Ainex Participates in IPA Symposium… Clinical Evidence of AI Upper & Lower Endoscopy Diagnostic Assistance System ENAD Presented

Jun.05.2026

■ Ainex participates in the 15th IPA Spring Symposium; showcasing AI-based real-time upper & lower endoscopy diagnostic assistance software ‘ENAD’

■ Prof. Seong-Eun Kim of Ewha Womans University Medical Center Mokdong presents ENAD clinical research findings… Spotlight on Clinical Value of Endoscopy AI

Ainex Corporation (CEO David Lee, hereinafter ‘Ainex’) announced its participation in the ‘15th IPA Spring Symposium,’ held on May 30 at the Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel, where it showcased its AI-based real-time upper & lower endoscopy diagnostic assistance software, ENAD.

The symposium was attended by internal medicine practitioners from Incheon and across South Korea, who gathered to share the latest trends in medical technology. Ainex used its exhibition booth to introduce ENAD’s real-world clinical applications and technical differentiation, engaging actively with physicians on-site.

During the academic lecture session, Prof. Seong-Eun Kim of the Department of Gastroenterology at Ewha Womans University Medical Center Mokdong presented on the topic of ‘AI Applications in Upper and Lower Endoscopy.’ Prof. Kim drew significant attention by introducing clinical research findings using ENAD and reviewing various studies on the effectiveness of AI-assisted endoscopy diagnostic systems.

Prof. Kim first emphasized the clinical significance of improving adenoma detection rate (ADR), noting that “every 1% increase in ADR — a key quality indicator for colonoscopy — reduces colorectal cancer risk by 3% and mortality by 5%.” She then cited findings from a multi-center randomized controlled trial (RCT) conducted at Ewha Womans University Medical Center Mokdong and Korea University Anam Hospital, reporting that “with ENAD assistance, colonoscopy ADR improved significantly from 36.1% to 52.3%, and polyp detection rate (PDR) from 54.5% to 72.2%.”

She also highlighted evidence from upper endoscopy research showing that AI-assisted diagnostic systems can reduce the blind spot rate by 21% and the lesion miss rate to as low as 6.1%, underscoring the quality improvement benefits across both upper and lower endoscopy. She noted that ENAD can automatically verify examination location and completion in real time, helping confirm that all designated anatomical landmarks have been assessed.

Prof. Kim noted that “AI helps even less experienced endoscopists perform standardized diagnoses,” and that “its full potential is realized when AI is integrated into actual clinical workflows alongside the clinical judgment of skilled endoscopists.”

She further added that “when colonoscopy is introduced as part of the national screening program in 2028, demand is expected to surge significantly, yet the supply of specialists will remain limited — raising concerns about cumulative physician fatigue and quality variation due to differing skill levels,” and that “endoscopy AI can serve as a tool for standardizing and elevating examination quality amid this supply-demand imbalance.”

David Lee, CEO of Ainex, said: “This symposium was a meaningful occasion to engage directly with internal medicine practitioners in the Incheon region and reaffirm the clinical value of ENAD,” adding that “there was particularly strong interest in ENAD’s wide range of clinical evidence and real-world user feedback.”

He also stated that “ENAD has been adopted by numerous healthcare institutions worldwide and continues to receive positive feedback across multiple dimensions, including increased lesion detection rates and improved diagnostic efficiency,” and that “as demand for AI-assisted endoscopy solutions in clinical settings rapidly takes shape, we will continue to expand our clinical evidence base and real-world case studies so that ENAD can firmly establish itself as an AI solution that makes a tangible contribution to improving examination quality.”
